Are you ready to share your Spiritual Gifts with a growing church family? 

Redeemer Evangelical Covenant Church (www.redeemercovenantchurch.org) in Carrollton, TX is seeking a vibrant Christian who is ready to exhibit Jesus’ love to our church family and community. 

The Position:

Redeemer Covenant Church is searching for a part time associate pastor.  A passion for service will lead the successful candidate to assist in the design of the position that will fulfill our mutual needs. The Associate Pastoral candidate will embrace the missions of Redeemer as well as the missions and priorities of our denomination and serve alongside our Senior Pastor. This position is a part time position with a potential to become full time.   

Associate Pastor Requirements:

The candidate must display evidence of a vibrant faith in Jesus Christ;  must articulate, abide by and embrace the mission and priorities of the church and denomination; must be a team player with a welcoming and genuine presence.   

It is preferred that the candidate has a college degree and have participated in a variety of ministry experiences- either paid or volunteer.  The primary tasks of the associate pastor will be the administration of some church programs, identifying and developing new leadership, and working alongside the pastoral staff and church council towards the goals of Redeemer.

While the above is the "Job Description", here is the "Character Description" of the person we would like to hire.

1.  The pastoral candidate must show evidence of relationship with Jesus Christ.  He or she must have a strong knowledge of the Bible, must have vibrant and tested faith, must have  a passion to spread the gospel, and be a person of grace and patience.  [Christian walk] 

2.  The pastoral candidate must be able to articulate, abide by, and embrace the mission and priorities of Redeemer Covenant Church and its leadership.  The pastoral candidate must be able to embrace the mission and priorities of the Evangelical Covenant Church.  Pursuit of ordination in the Evangelical Covenant Church is not required but the staff pastor must be supportive of the denomination's current policies and mission.  [Mission of Redeemer & Denomination] 

3.  The pastoral candidate must have a passion to serve in the Church.  The candidate should be open to working with all areas of Redeemer's life while at the same time able to focus and cultivate the ministries which are the staff member's primary focus (ie-youth, worship, children's, etc.)  [Calling] 

4.  The pastoral candidate must have had previous job and/or volunteer experiences, both ministry and non-ministry related, that have prepared the candidate for the transition to pastoral ministry.  [Past Experience] 

5.  The pastoral candidate must be talented in working with people.  They must display evidence of being a team player, a welcoming presence, and a genuinely caring person.   [People person] 

6.  The pastoral candidate must be able to identify and develop leadership within the church.  The candidate must be able help counsel current and emerging leaders without stepping in and taking over a task, ministry, or opportunity from a Redeemer member.   [Discipleship] 

7.  The pastoral candidate must demonstrate the responsibility required to be entrusted with an assigned area(s) of Church ministry to the candidate.  This means the candidate must have the  necessary leadership, administration and communication skills required to lead a given ministry area.  [Administrator]
